CHILDREN'S EYECARE

CARING FOR YOUR CHILD'S EYES

Much of a child’s learning and development is based on their vision, so we believe it’s important to pay special attention to eye care for children.

Our services are designed to work for the whole family, so we ensure that our eye examinations and contact lens appointments are as child-friendly as possible.

KID'S EYE TESTS

Eye tests for children are just as important as those for adults.

Because children’s eyes are still developing, it’s vital to check up on their vision and eye health annually.

During our child-friendly eye examinations, we look at how well your child can see, how healthy their eyes are and whether there are any conditions developing that may be a cause for concern.

Remember that children under 16 and teenagers in full-time education are entitled to free eye tests through the NHS.

WHAT IS MYOPIA & WHY IS IT AN ISSUE?

Myopia, also known as short-sightedness, is a condition in which the eyeball is longer than normal or the cornea is too steep causing distant objects to appear blurry or unfocused.

Over time, advancement of myopia can cause increased risk of eye diseases and vision problems. 'Myopia control', also known as 'myopia management', is a rapidly progressing area of Optometric practice which is dedicated to slowing down the progression of myopia.

We offer specialist myopia-control spectacle lenses and contact lenses that are aimed to slow down the advancement of myopia. Myopia control is particularly important in childhood, because this is the stage in life when myopia is most likely to advance rapidly.
