	History Of the Practice The Cheltenham INDEPENDENT EYECARE CENTRE has the combined heritage of over 40 years trading. A E Child Opticians and Preston Opticians combined in late 2001 to form the practice as it is today. You can take a "Virtual Tour" of the Practice - Tour The emphasis is on INDEPENDENT. There have been many changes in the optical market over the last 20 years with multiple shops and franchises popping up everywhere - But if you go to one and end up being dissatisfied then clearly you need to try elsewhere,- If they are branded the same you can expect the same problems at another branch - After all that is why they are a chain - all the same....
	At INDEPENDENT EYECARE CENTRE we are here to make your life easier. We have our own lab on the premises and are able to re-glaze your old glasses, mend, and make new glasses while you wait and have a coffee. Not only that - our "Head Office" is on the premises - with us. Most multiples have their head office in a remote location, away from you and your needs. Some have the "Management" abroad or off shore. Many have "Directors" and "Share Holders" to keep happy with big profits.
